I hope you enjoy the resources here at the 3DB and find value in each of the articles. My primary focus at the 3DB is to try and connect Aviators, and Aviation Enthusiast, with the history of the people in aviation who blazed the trail for all of us. Hopefully, all of us will better understand our responsibilities to the future of aviation, after reflecting back on our history, and can help those who will follow in our footsteps to better understand their responsibilities to the pioneers who made it all possible.
It is important, however, to note that I do not rewrite history. I simply retell the facts, and stories, of others. For books, and short stories, that I have written please click on the book icons, to the left and right.
Now, let us begin our journey at the 3DB with a few words from Earnest Gann who authored eighteen books, many of which were made into movies:
Airman or Pilot – What is the Difference.
There are airmen and there are pilots: the first being part bird whose view from aloft is normal and comfortable, a creature whose brain and muscles frequently originate movements which suggest flight; and then there are pilots who regardless of their airborne time remain earth-loving bipeds forever. When these latter unfortunates, because of one urge or another, actually make an ascension, they neither anticipate nor relish the event and they drive their machines with the same graceless labor they inflict upon the family vehicle.
