The Future of Commercial Aviation – Commentary – January 8, 2010

It is a new year, and this month I will begin a new series on where I think commercial aviation is going;. However, I want to highlight a specific area this week that needs attention by all who work in the industry, and everyone who flies as a passenger. As always, I would like all aviators to connect with their roots and one of the ways they can do that is by using the “Third Dimension Blog” as a resource.

This week, we look at the RJ revolution and its expected impact on the legacy carriers and the low cost carriers. As always, I would like all aviators to connect with their roots and one of the ways they can do that is by using the “Third Dimension Blog” as a resource.

The Next Wave of Deregulation – Part Two The Unfinished Revolution – October 16, 2009

This week, we look at some of the alternatives being offered up by the Think Tanks and consulting firms. Hopefully, we can begin to build the case for the legacy carriers to regain their hold but you decide. As always, I would like all aviators to connect with their roots and one of the ways they can do that is by using the “Third Dimension Blog” as a resource.

The Low Cost Carrier – Part Four – September 25, 2009

The Low Cost Carrier, LCC, and the demise of the Legacy Carriers. This week we will finish it up and hopefully you can see that the legacy carriers are making a comeback and it is my belief that the next wave of deregulation will turn the tide. So, let’s take a look at the Regional Jets and the part they will play in the future. As always I would like all aviators to connect with their roots and one of the ways they can do that is by using the “Third Dimension Blog” as a resource.

The Low Cost Carrier – Part Three – September 18, 2009

Welcome and happy Friday. Almost finished with this series but I have two more articles to go and I hope that they prove interesting. So, let’s continue with a look at how the business model came about and what the future may hold for the LCC. As always, I would like all aviators to connect with their roots and one of the ways they can do that is by using the “Third Dimension Blog” as a resource.

The Low Cost Carrier – Part Two – September 11, 2009

The Low Cost Carrier, LCC, and the basic points of what make it work for now ---this is the topic for today. I recently read in the WSJ that an analysis of all of the LCCs quarterly/yearly earnings show they are losing money and the slugfest between Southwest and US Airways is troubling for them; however, if there were no issues for them to write about they would be in trouble. As always, I would like all aviators to connect with their roots and one of the ways they can do that is by using the “Third Dimension Blog” as a resource.

The Low Cost Carrier – Part One – September 04, 2009

This week, we discuss the Low Cost Carrier, LCC, and the demise of the Legacy Carriers. No, I can’t blame the LCC because the blame lies with the CAB and the bureaucrats of Washington. So, let’s take a look at how the business model came about and what the future may hold for the LCC. As always I would like all aviators to connect with their roots and one of the ways they can do that is by using the “Third Dimension Blog” as a resource.

The Legacy Carriers – Part Four – August 28, 2009

This week we conclude the series on the legacy carriers but help me keep the memory of those that are gone but not forgotten alive by reading their history. As always, I would like all aviators to connect with their roots and one of the ways they can do that is by using the “Third Dimension Blog” as a resource.
